The classic

100 kilometres long, 3,000 metres in altitude and around six hours in the road bike saddle: Furka, Nufenen and Gotthard. These three passes are regularly on the schedule of the Tour de Suisse and leads at first through Valais, then to the Ticino and back to the canton of Uri. This tour is not only a challenge for your muscles, but also your mental strength. It is therefore not surprising that the route is also a tour at the Alpenbrevet. Andermatt is the perfect start and finish point for road bike adventures and guarantees routes for every level.

Basecamp in the middle of the alps

The 4-star superior hotel Radisson Blu Reussen is reminiscent of the grand hotels of the 19th century, which protected their guests from wind and snow in the mountains. With the comfortable rooms and the hotel’s own spa and wellness area Uela with fitness room, the hotel is ideally suited as a so-called base camp for road bike holidays. After a hard day in the saddle, you can relax in the indoor pool and get your muscles back into shape with a massage. In addition, the well-equipped fitness room offers a good alternative if the weather does not permit an extensive bike tour or if you feel the need to train other muscle parts. The Radisson Blu Hotel Reussen has been awarded by Hotellerie Suisse as a snow sports and bike hotel.

The apartments are furnished in alpine style and have a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and oven. Depending on the location, you can enjoy the view of the Bäzberg and the river Reuss or the Piazza Gottardo and Andermatt Reuss. So you can relax with a refreshing drink on the balcony or in the loggia and plan the next day’s tour.

A game of golf for balance

To get several meters of altitude behind you on the road bike every day is exhausting. To compensate, a game on the 18-hole golf course is a good idea. Here on the Andermatt Swiss Alps Golf Course you are also challenged: the course is over six kilometres long and the holes demand all your concentration. If the clubs did not find any more space in the luggage, that is no problem. Clubs, trolleys or carts can be rented on site. Or maybe there is just the curiosity to try a new sport? The Golf Academy offers a comprehensive range of services – whether you want to improve your golf swing or pick up a few tips from the pros during a refresher lesson.
